Abstract
Desmoplastic trichoepithelioma is a great mimicker, most commonly diagnosed as basal cell carcinoma. The dermatoscopic appearance provides clues for diagnosing desmoplastic trichoepithelioma: pearly-white to ivory-white background colour throughout the entire lesion, with the presence of scarcely branching arborizing vessels and well-defined borders. The lesions, which are firm on palpation, are predominantly located on the face in young adults, more often female, with a clinical appearance of asymptomatic whitish plaque.
