Abstract
Throughout this textbook, we hear survivors’ voices indirectly through the case presentations. In some cases, such as in chapters “LGBTQIA+ Youth and Human Trafficking,” “The Patient with Substance Use,” “Boys Are Trafficked Too?,” and “Building Resilience and Fostering Prevention,” survivors openly offer their perspectives or contribute their professional knowledge and expertise to the chapter content. At times, survivors have counseled chapter authors but wish to remain uncredited and anonymous. Here, esteemed survivor leaders – who are themselves accomplished authors, speakers, humorists, advocates, advisors to policy makers, and more – share their insights about human trafficking, about the anti-trafficking movement, and about the healthcare professional’s role in addressing human trafficking abuses.
