CSR Level Versus Employee Dismissal

Abstract

The research problem of the paper can be formulated as a question—what is the relationship between the CSR level and enterprise’s help in the event of the necessity to dismiss an employee? To answer the question, there were used such research methods as: descriptive method and selected methods of descriptive statistics. The scope of the research includes 418 enterprises operating in Poland (the research was carried out in 2014–2017 year). The results of empirical research showed that about 70% of the surveyed entities confirmed the possibility of employees to achieve help in the event of the necessity to dismiss them, however this is spontaneous help or based on previous experience. Among entities that achieved the highest level of social responsibility, only about 15% of them indicated the use of experience while providing assistance in the event of a necessity to dismiss employees. The presented diagram of CSR levels and general criteria related with them will allow the enterprises to try to assess their involvement in solving problem situations (when there is a necessity to dismiss the employee), and to compare the information to the level obtained by other entities (benchmarking).
