Abstract

In a much-loved creation myth, Eve tempts Adam with the forbidden fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. I wonder whether the tree of life mentioned elsewhere in the bible is the same tree? Either way, it is pleasing to apply the same term to the mundane notion of a game tree when talking about evaluating lives not just the life of an individual, but of a society, or our species.
