Trust & Fault in Multi Layered Cloud Computing Architecture

Abstract

Workflow scheduling in cloud computing is said to be the most challenging problem in the cloud environment. The problem deals with the scheduling of dependent tasks in the cloud environment for improving the performance of the system. The system comprises heterogeneous resources and varying performance matrices. Use of trust models provides a multi-objective solution to this problem. This chapter introduces workflow scheduling, its performance parameters, and parameters affecting trust-based scheduling. The work also proposes a few workflow scheduling algorithms using the trust model. At the end of this chapter, a comparative study of existing literature and the proposed model is discussed which shows that trust-based algorithm performs better than the existing algorithm.
