Abstract
Semiconductors are strange materials. They change radically in response to very small amounts of impurities. And they exhibit peculiar properties when brought in contact with other materials. This allows us to make interesting devices using semiconductors. But understanding these devices can be challenging. The underlying physics requires a paradigm shift in how familiar quantities like energy and current are viewed.
