Abstract
Congenital ptosis is a dystrophy of the levator muscle. It may be unilateral or bilateral with excellent to poor levator function . Most congenital ptosis with reasonable levator function can be improved with levator aponeurosis or muscle resection. The dilemma is choosing the correct procedure for a severe unilateral ptosis with poor levator function , supramaximal levator muscle resection or frontalis sling .
