Micro-Pollutant Regulation in the River Rhine

Abstract

The last chapter holds recommendations for practitioners of water management in the catchment areas of the Ruhr, the Moselle, and the Rhine at Basel as well as in other river basins that face issues of water quality. It highlights the importance of cross-sectoral cooperation in the context of water quality management and the specific role of forums and bridging actors in consolidating such cross-sectoral cooperation. The chapter further suggests that cross-border water management requires the constant exchange of information regarding surface water quality, the implemented policy measures, as well as their outcomes.
