Abstract

In this concluding chapter, I sum up the contributions of this volume to the field of indigenous psychology (IP) with a special focus on its expansion from IP to GP (global psychology). The inspiration for this expansion comes from the guiding vision of the late Professor K. S. Yang who spoke of the development of “a genuine, balanced global human psychology” (Yang in Chang Gung Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences 5:11, 2012). Bringing to bear insights from the contributors to this volume, I present a critical evaluation of Yang’s legacy, followed by appreciation of his deep concerns for IP, and conclude with some suggestions for the way forward.
