Abstract

This chapter presents the selected aspects of residential real estate resources in 117 municipalities linked with Polish national parks. The necessity of meeting the living needs makes this type of real estate particularly important. As a result of interactions occurring between the residential real estate and its socio-economic environment, the selected features characterizing demography and the tourist function of the explored municipalities were discussed. The selection of territorial units was based on the criterion of establishing a national park in the area of a municipality. The research period covers the years 2005–2015. The purpose of this chapter is to attract attention to the situation of local communities residing in the areas covered by the highest rank of area forms of nature protection.
