Abstract
Eiko closes her eyes and turns her head to catch the warmth of the sun on her face. The calendar may say spring but the air still has bite. She hears the muffled sound of the shuttle arriving and opens her eyes. As she does, a solitary figure at the edge of her vision catches her eye. She is not sure why. Everyone boards the shuttle with her and the figure no longer stands out. The ride is only five minutes, so she remains standing, looking at the busy streets as they glide past. She feels a sudden fondness for the city and everyone in it, despite all that has happened the past few years. Maybe what she feels is hope.
