Abstract

E-health plays vital roles in tackling the challenges to China’s healthcare system and providing opportunities for its development in a sustainable way, aiming at equal access to affordable and consumer-centric medical service and customized personal care and wellbeing. For these aims, the authors propose an e-health ecosystem based on an analysis of challenges that the Chinese healthcare is facing, and current status of e-health market in China. The outcome of the research is a conceptual framework for the ecosystem, which will assist Chinese government in making decisions on the Internet+ healthcare; healthcare professionals in establishing e-health system standards; and industry vendors in seeking opportunities in China’s e-health market.
