A Focused Conversational Model for Game Design and Play-Tests

Abstract

Ludic examinations are close in scope to appreciations in other fields such as art criticism, which has utilized methods, such as focused conversations in order to derive the truth from several viewpoints. Best practices of lesson planning, such as that based off of the Context-Activity-Reflection-Documentation (CARD) model, requires a reflective stage of development. The Focused Conversation Model or ORID question model are both examined with the application to a playtesting case study in order to encourage the application of lesson planning to the field of games appreciation and design.
