Abstract
Human herpesvirus type 8 (HHV8) causes several lymphoproliferative disorders, including multicentric Castleman disease (MCD), HHV8-positive diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), HHV8-positive germinotropic lymphoproliferative disorder (GLPD), and primary effusion lymphoma (PEL). While representing a spectrum of the disease processes, these lymphoproliferative disorders demonstrate similar cytomorphology and immunophenotypic profile. The diagnosis can be challenging because of their low occurrence rate and ambiguous phenotypes.
