Abstract

The 2017 revised 4th version of WHO classification of tumors of hematopoietic and lymphoid tissue (2017 WHO) now recognized pediatric-type follicular lymphoma as a definite entity (Swerdlow et al. WHO classification of tumours of haematopoietic and lymphoid tissues. Lyon: International Agency for Research on Cancer, 2017). As a subtype of nodal marginal zone lymphoma, pediatric nodal marginal zone lymphoma has distinctive clinicopathological features. Although Burkitt lymphoma may occur both in children and adults, the leukemic variant is predominantly seen in children, and diagnosis may be challenging due to its rarity. Burkitt-like lymphoma with 11q aberration is a new provisional entity recognized by 2017 WHO and primarily occurs in children (Swerdlow et al. WHO classification of tumours of haematopoietic and lymphoid tissues. Lyon: International Agency for Research on Cancer, 2017).
