Abstract

Due to the complexity of the last mile delivery, the emerging business called “just-in-time delivery” often has a strict service range limit. As a newly received method for last mile delivery, the UAV can expand the service range of just-in-time delivery with the assistance of vehicles. This paper proposes a model based on the set covering model to locate the UAV take-off point. After that, an improved ant colony algorithm is used to obtain the location result. Finally, the customer’s allocation method is proposed. Both methods are tested with randomly generated data and proved to be effective. It provides a reference for the future practice of the just-in-time delivery business.
