Abstract

Over the last decade, a number of studies and forecasts have been made on the impact of AI, and one of the last Gartner research predicts that by 2020, customers will manage 85% of their relationship with the enterprise without interacting with a human. It is possible to see the growing tendency to use chatbots in the customer service field on a worldwide scale. AI chatbots that are designed for employees support is a prospective niche that will grow rapidly over the next decade and one of the areas that could benefit from AI chatbots is project management. Main work categories where chatbots could be useful is the automation of routine project management tasks, data processing and analysis.

The paper aims to demonstrate the potential of using chatbots in project management and to prove the authors’ hypothesis - AI chatbots use in project management can save time for project managers (and project team) and reduce factors of project failure. The hypothesis has been tested with AI chatbot prototypes. The paper contains results of the chatbots existing and potential possibilities for project management support, proof of concept (PoC) for implementing chatbot and a brief insight into developed chatbot prototypes.
