Abstract
This chapter aims to describe how an instrument can be developed from the results of content analysis in the context of nursing science. This chapter presents a chronological description of the instrument development process, starting with content analysis of qualitative data, then covering instrument development, during which the concepts identified through content analysis are translated into quantifiable entities, and concluding with a section on the psychometric testing of an instrument.
