Abstract

Chronic, acquired hypoparathyroidism is a known complication of neck surgery. Conventional treatment includes calcium and vitamin D supplementation. In this chapter, we describe a case of a 48-year-old man who developed hypoparathyroidism following parathyroid surgery. Treatment and monitoring recommendations in accordance with international guidelines are reviewed.
