Abstract

Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine involving diagnosis and treatment of the eye and visual system. It is unusual in that it is both a medical and surgical specialty, making the ophthalmologist both physician and surgeon. Ophthalmology provides an abundance of opportunities for those with a keen eye for detail, an interest in technology and of course, a steady hand.
