Abstract

Although evidence-based interventions minimize healthcare variation and promote best practices, trial results or guideline publication alone does not guarantee practice change. Implementation is the use of strategies to adopt and integrate evidence-based health interventions and change practice patterns within specific settings. This chapter reviews common implementation science terms, strategies, study designs and outcomes.
