Research Methods and Solutions to Current Transport Problems (ISCT21 2019)

Abstract

The objective of the research paper is to present the influence of IT and logistics system global development on the planning and expansion of the ICT network for the purposes of railway transport in Poland. The PKP PLK Company is currently in the process of building an ICT network, primarily for the needs of the ERTMS system.

The authors believe that a railway ICT network should be planned in a way, so as to satisfy the current and future demands of all railway Companies in terms of data transmission, enabling the ICT expansion of these Companies onto other types of transport.
