Assessment of Sleep in Newborns to Adolescents

Pediatric Respiratory Diseases

Abstract

Sleep plays a central role in many spheres of child development. Knowledge about sleeping habits in the first years of life provides the physician with insights into the management of that development. Child and adolescent sleep-related issues are an increase chief compliant at primary health centers. Many of the demands arising from these concerns can be resolved at that level, given that primary physicians play an essential role in detecting and managing these disorders. Sleep disorders frequently present with nighttime symptoms, but daytime symptoms may affect patients’ and families’ quality of life just as much.
