Abstract
The resources available to you and your practice for children with ASD depend on many factors. This chapter covers the types of services and resources that will help children and families, which are available in many areas of the USA. Some programs, like Birth-to-Three, Early Childhood Programs, and public schooling to age 21, are mandated by federal legislation. Others, like respite care, are highly variable even within one state. State-by-state mandates that require some healthcare coverage for autism services are widely available but vary in amount and type of coverage. Resources are discussed by age of child. Resources for adults with autism or developmental disabilities are the most variable, with some regions providing state-of-the-art services, and others, dependent on active parent organizations.
