Abstract
Pneumonia is defined and discussed from a pathophysiologic basis. The different epidemiologic categories are discussed. Specific infectious organisms are discussed, including viral, bacterial, and fungal organisms, including atypical organisms. The specific and nonspecific imaging findings for pneumonia are discussed. Clinical history is emphasized.
