Abstract

Acetabular fractures in the elderly represent a difficult management challenge, with nonoperative management or surgery with either fracture fixation and/or arthroplasty all being acceptable options. This introductory chapter defines the problems that these injuries present to clinicians who care for these patients and provides a brief introduction to treatment options.
