Abstract
When a significant fragment of the Chelyabinsk meteorite struck the ice of Lake Chebarkul on February 15, 2013, a large, almost perfectly circular ice hole formed (Fig. 6.1). The meteorite hit the lake about 150 m from the eastern edge of the Krutik Peninsula, at coordinates 54°57.580 N and 60°19.243 E (positioning error – 2 m), in an area where the lake depth is 10±0.5 m.
