Abstract

The bolide that exploded above the Southern Urals on February 15, 2013 caused a massive meteorite shower. Residents of Yemanzhelinsk District witnessed a space rain that beat against the roofs of houses and buses and made a great number of holes in the snow. Is it possible to search for small meteorites in deep snow? The apparent answer would be that it is almost as easy as looking for a needle in a haystack. However, the meteorite shower which followed the Chelyabinsk bolide broke this stereotype.
