Abstract
This study develops and tests a model of chain restaurant organizational achievement to investigate the key linkages in the effectiveness of organizational achievement in Taiwan chain restaurants. An industry survey with a national cross-sectional sample of middle and upper level managers (nā=ā213) was conducted in five franchised and six company-owned restaurant chains in Taiwan. The results revealed that the relationships established among factors in the model of restaurant organizational achievement were generally supported as follows: (a) flexible organizational culture impacts decision making outcomes; (b) flexible organizational culture impacts performance measures; (c) flexible organizational culture impacts organizational achievement; (d) performance measures impact decision making outcomes; (e) decision making outcomes impact organizational achievement. The study concluded with discussion, recommendations, and limitations for theory and practice.
