Abstract

Pediatric urology is a specialty that manages and treats disorders of the genitourinary tract. Management of some of these disorders can be complex and require shared decision-making between the family and physician. Early and timely referral to a pediatric urologist can prevent potentially devastating long-term effects, such as renal failure.
