Digital Readiness Parameters for Regional Economies: Empirical Research and Monitoring Results (Russia Case Study)

Abstract

The article presents the results of an empirical study of the transition to a digital economy in the form of a case study of Russia. The research focuses on the management relations arising from the digital transformation of the national economy, as well as on the methods and tools for analyzing readiness for the digital economy. Cross-country comparisons of readiness for the digital economy based on statistical analysis were made. The most significant factors influencing the digital transformation were identified. An aggregated digital economy index was proposed. The innovative component of the transition to a digital economy in the regions of Russia was investigated. Substantiation was provided for the relationship of sustainable development with digital transformation and the achievement of innovative and intellectual effect.
