Abstract

This chapter is based on two examples of on-site reportage and treats examples of transmedia crossover. In the first part, film and TV production is crafted to coincide with the Mexican calendar and its unique Day of the Dead festivities; in the second, live theater shows recreate TV successes in provincial Mérida, Yucatán, and metropolitan Mexico City. The stars examined are veteran singer Angélica María and a telenovela juvenile with a controversial past, Polo Morín.
