Detection and Assessment of Dental Caries

Abstract

When conducting a clinical examination, it is important to optimize the conditions, removing biofilm and using focused drying. All exposed teeth surfaces in the oral cavity are susceptible to dental caries, however susceptibility among the different surfaces and teeth differ. Understanding the most common patterns of dental caries susceptibility is important not only for caries detection but for caries risk assessment and caries management.
