Abstract

This chapter outlines the use of art-led research in this project, but more than this also contributes to discussions around the use of practice-led methods. The chapter outlines the benefits that employing art has brought to this project, by offering new and novel ways of accessing and engaging audiences, as well as integrating and presenting data. Here, we also offer a consideration of the continued relevance of painting and argue that this ancient and slow practice is particularly beneficial, as it allows for an in-depth and reflective engagement with contemporary popular culture. Finally, we consider the use of curation and exhibiting as means and methods for engaging with diverse audiences, which can add new insights and make further contributions to the work.
