Abstract
In this chapter we consider various dynamical systems on low-dimensional spaces (namely, of dimension 1 for discrete time and of dimension 2 for continuous time). The reason for this separation is that the results and methods that can be used with these dynamical systems, because of specific topological properties, fail on higher dimensional spaces.
