Abstract
Research and development in the field of Communicative Intelligent Computer-Assisted Language Learning (Communicative ICALL) enable people to develop communicative competence in a foreign language and to conquer their language barrier. This book shows how to improve Communicative ICALL applications by adding Conversation Analysis to the research paradigm. Following a brief introduction, this chapter describes the multidisciplinary nature of Communicative ICALL, the research aims of this book and the chosen methodology. The final section provides details on the scope and the structure of this book.
