Abstract

Providing care to children requires constant attention to a wider variety of developmental, social and communication parameters than most adult medical encounters. Building rapport, conducting physical exams and counseling children and their parents or guardians should adjust for patient age and psychosocial factors. Prescribing practices must also be modified for optimal logistics and safety. Here you will find useful approaches and medication prescribing tips that will help keep your patients safe and also save parents/guardians, clinical support staff and yourself many hours of logistical troubleshooting.
