Abstract

In this chapter, the results of Chap. 3 are applied to the discrete model of a multidimensional sampled-data (SD) system with delays at the input and output of a continuous process. The solution is based on the discrete backward model of the system, expressed by the inverse shift operator \(\zeta \). Necessary and sufficient conditions for modal controllability and stabilization are given. At the end of the chapter, the construction of a minimal realization of the considered system in the state space is considered with the forward shift operator z, since the method traditionally used to solve this problem does not always lead to the desired results.
