Abstract

The work presents a method which allows creating computer models of functional surfaces of items in the automated mode. A surface is formed on the basis of the framework, linear elements of which are plane curves, which are defined analytically or structurally. The worked out method allows designing surfaces on the basis of curves, absent in the library of CAD system.  Generation of the line includes calculation of the coordinates of points, on which basis the curve is created. The resulting curve defines a linear element of the framework of the surface with set accuracy. The obtained row of points is automatically interpolated in CAD system by means of B-spline or parts of second-order curves via specially worked out software. The model of the surface is formed on the basis of the obtained framework via standard functions of CAD system. The article describes the technology of designing functional surfaces of the casing and rotor of the planetary-rotor compressor with the help of the worked out method.
