Essential Foot and Ankle Surgical Techniques

Abstract

Hindfoot arthrodeses, in particular talonavicular (TN) joint arthrodeses, are versatile procedures which allow for dramatic positional correction in multiple planes. The indications range from post-traumatic arthropathy, moderate to severe hindfoot valgus, posterior tibial tendon dysfunction, Mueller-Weiss syndrome, and rheumatoid arthritis. These various disease processes and pathologies are discussed in detail in previous chapters. This chapter will focus on isolated TN fusion techniques and pearls.
