Abstract

Many in the City’s elite came to see the Goodman struggle as one of struggling artists and literary expression. 5 years on the strike had occupied empty storefronts and had a thriving theater, community gallery and workshops. The historic nature of the building had garnered it a recognition on the National Register for Historic Places due to the work of the tenants, arts community and local Democratic elite.
