Abstract

The analysis of urban realities, including valuable sites and degraded places close to each others, could result fundamental to program new reconfiguration strategies for diversified open type spaces of our contemporary. Those spaces, urban consolidated or peripheral places, as well as marginal or central areas and hybrid or atopic sites, propose themselves, especially in the light of unbridled globalization, as ambits, although disaggregated, able to accept design experimentations for a new contemporary city proposal able to measure itself with an innovative idea of quality, sobriety and naturalness, reflecting its own identity characters accumulated over the centuries. The thought over quality reconfiguration of urban central spaces, as well as those of small and medium dimension, should be measured with a reasoning capable to intervene on ways of constructing the different parts that make up the contemporary city as a whole, as well as the ways of connecting these parts to each other, in order to escape from a dangerous condition of trivialization. The project for the construction of the “School of excellence in hotels and agri-food” of Ariano Irpino is configured as a valid test bench to experience the “Technologies for digital representation” within their use closer to the needs of the civic community.
