Abstract

A new method of joint statistical analysis of the fields of temperature - T, salinity - S, density of sea water-ρ is described, which is a generalization of the method of joint statistical t-S analysis. On the basis of the proposed method, the properties of joint statistics of fields T, S, ρ are investigated and the connection of the described properties with modern theories of self-organization of complex nonlinear systems (synergetic) and nonequilibrium processes in open thermodynamic systems is established. The concept of participation of water masses in redistribution of energy flows in sea waters from large-scale processes to smaller-scale processes is substantiated. From the described properties of the joint field statistics T, S, ρ follows the physical inconsistency of the existing methods for calculating the values of T, S, ρ in the areas of marine hydrological fronts. Recommendations to calculations of their physically reasonable values are given.
