The Power Grid Complex of Russia: From Informatization to the Strategy of Digital Network Development

Abstract

The relevance of the study is due to the need for technological improvement of the Russian energy industry, the development of digital technologies in the network complex. The key problems in the functioning of the Russian electric power industry remain the reliability, safety, quality and availability of electricity, the impact on the environment. In this regard, this article is aimed at disclosing the results of the reform and identifying prospects for the development of the electric power industry. The leading approaches to the study of this problem are formalized, research and system approaches that allow to comprehensively consider solving the problem of transition of electric power industry to digital technologies as the only possible way to improve the quality and reliability of power supply, solve financial and economic problems of the grid complex without increasing tariffs and additional burden on consumers. The article presents empirical data on the successful development and regulatory support of electrical grid regulation. of the country’s economy, disclosed, it is revealed that in terms of the volume of introduction of new technologies in the banking and financial sector Russia is among the world leaders, which is facilitated by the relative youth of the industry (by world standards), which makes it relatively easy to implement high-tech solutions, “stepping over some steps of traditional development. The materials of the article are of practical value for workers of electric grids and specialists in the electric power industry, regulators of the electric power system when justifying strategies for investment and tariff policy.
