    By official traditional liturgies, I mean those liturgies that are sanctioned by relevant ecclesial authorities and that rely on and refer explicitly to a tradition of prayer, ritual, and rubrics. The Book of Common Prayer, the Roman Missal, Byzantine Typika, and much worship material in the Lutheran, Methodist, and Reformed traditions are included in this definition.
