Abstract
First visited in early 1950s and locally known as Daïat el Maadna, Talemzane is a simple circular bowl-shaped impact crater 1750 m wide with a 70-m raised rim. It is emplaced in nearly horizontal beds of Senonian or Eocene limestone; its wall shows outward-dipping beds of limestone, which are nearly vertical at the top of the rim.
