Abstract

There are three reasonably well documented pits on the Moon : the Marius Hills Pit in the Oceanus Procellarum , the Mare Ingenii Pit, and the Mare Tranquillitatis Pit.

    Longitudes on the Moon are measured both east and west from the prime meridian. When no direction is specified, east is positive and west is negative. Coordinates are usually measured positive even though it appears as though it would have been simpler to use west as in this case.
