Abstract
Protection of some open access youth work provision by a minority of councils and by ad hoc forms of support from some lower tier authorities. The emergence of alternative organisational structures such as mutuals and other forms of social enterprise for providing both open access facilities and forms of targeted practice with young people. The search for new sources of funding for youth work—in particular the Lottery, philanthropic bodies and ‘socially responsible’ private businesses.
