Abstract
Johanson develops a framework for the examination of strategic management in government. The framework shows that strategic management within government comprises of macro-level developments within government and micro-level developments within public agencies. Strategic design, internal strategic planning and strategic governance capture the essence of strategic actions in both macro and micro levels of government.
