Abstract
This chapter focuses on deriving insights and recommendations based on the empirical cross-city comparison conducted in the previous chapter of this book. The benchmarking study involved measuring Brisbane’s performance, against Birmingham, Boston, Helsinki, Istanbul, Manchester, Melbourne, San Francisco, Sydney, Toronto, and Vancouver, through the Knowledge-Based Urban Development Assessment Model (KBUD-AM). The chapter provides strategic directions and recommendations in a structured way in the following areas: economic, societal, spatial and governance aspects along with a commentary for a long-term vision for 2050.
